Why Tourello?

Heather grew up on a prime lamb property at Tourello, 16 miles north of Ballarat in central Victoria. Her father Mac Troup ran a Dorset Stud and was a founding member of the Grasslands Association.

In 1994 Finding ourselves almost in the City, running several brood mares, performance horses and a flock of sheep, for pasture management, it was decided to develop a “Stud”. As Mac had passed away the family stud name was not being used and Tourello Texels was born.
